LinkedIn Profile
Danielle
graduated from Skidmore College in May 1996 with a degree in Accounting and
Classics. Since graduation, she has worked as an accountant and began her
career at KPMG. Currently, she is working as a Controller at a venture capital
company in Vienna, VA with $440 million in capital under management. She passed the CPA exam in August 1997. Her
role at GoodDogz.org is to perform the accounting function for the
organization, sit on the Board as the Treasurer and recruit and coordinate
volunteers for events.
In addition to working with GoodDogz.org, she volunteers with her church at
various functions and as a Sunday School teacher for pre-K to K age children.
She lives in Arlington Virginia with her husband, Patrick, also a GoodDogz.org
volunteer, and four very spoiled cats, Baxter, Angus, Indie and Scout.
Heidi Weiss
Vice President / Major Events
Heidi,
a native of Vienna, VA, was raised on a farm and is an animal lover.
With a background in event management and coordination, she currently
works locally for a national association. She was converted from a
cat-person to a dog-fanatic several years ago.
She raised her Jack
Russell Terrorist, Flip, from a puppy and they’ve been everywhere
together (including hiking, kayaking, winery touring, OBX and just relaxing). In
November 2009 at the GoodDogz.org Home 4 the Holidays adoption event, Heidi met
Flip’s soul-mate and adopted “Tiki” a little Terrier mix from
Lost Dog & Cat Rescue. Flip and Tiki are now the Dynamic Duo, terrorizing
the neighborhood squirrels and generally creating mayhem and chaos. Tiki is the
perfect addition to their family!
In her free time she enjoys wines and cooking, and of course, catering to her
pooches. "I really enjoy working with GoodDogz.org, and believe in what we
are trying to accomplish. If each person would give just a tiny percent of
their time or a donation to an organization such as GoodDogz.org, we would be
able to help so many more homeless dogs.”
Megan Brooks
Director, Volunteer Support
Megan Brooks graduated from George Mason University with degrees in Communication and Spanish. A part-time weekend job an animal shelter in California turned into a career in animal welfare. She worked at a local shelter for over 15 years, particularly enjoying counseling potential adopters and helping families find just the right dog. Megan has contributed to national publications on events in animal sheltering, and has received commendation for her work with shelter animals. She has dabbled in agility, rally and obedience work with many dogs over the past years, and also enjoys teaching classes for children to learn about dogs. She currently lives in Springfield, VA with her two children, two dogs, two cats and one very understanding husband. Megan is thrilled to be a part of GoodDogz.org because of the chance to provide breed and behavior information to owners to help them and their dogs live happily together.
