Mascott Needed!!
Have you ever wanted to goof around and be silly, but were afraid of how you would look doing it? Ever wanted to dress up as someone else, but weren’t sure what you wanted to be or couldn’t find a costume? If you said yes to any of these questions, you would make an ideal Spot.
We are looking for someone to dress up as Spot the Dog (we have the cosume) in the Vienna, VA Spooky Pooch parade on Wednesday October 29. The event starts at 7:00 and ends by 9:30 or so. Spot will arrive just before GoodDogz.org enters the parade, which will be closer to 8:00. Spot will walk through the parade saying hello to the fans cheering from the sidelines. So, if you have always wanted to goof around, here is your chance to do it and not let anyone know it is you!Â
If you are interested, please contact me at danielle@gooddogz.org.Â
Rock 4 Rescue
Here we are, already into October. It is hard to believe that we are coming up on the end of the year! It is finally time to attend the events that we have been looking forward to all year long. One of these events is Rock 4 Rescue on Thursday October 23 at Jammin Java in Vienna, which is a benefit concert to support GoodDogz.org’s programs.Â
GoodDogz.org is excited to announce that two groups have offered to play free of charge at the event. Emma Baily, an up-and-coming 17year old singer will perform modern country, R&B and some of her own music to kick-off the evening. Next, Pat’s Blues Rhythm Band will perform covers of Phish, the Dead and many others.Â
This event is going to be a blast and the $15 cover charge (which increases to $20 the day of the event) goes to support GoodDogz.org and the programs, such as the semi annual adoption events, that we host annually. Follow the link below to purchase your ticket today!!
Welcome Volunteers!
I want to extend a welcome to all of you who have volunteered with us in the past and who are interested in volunteering with us in the future. The summer has been slow with many people taking vacation and with others getting our participation in the CFC campaign underway. Now that we are past Labor Day, things are starting to kick into high gear. We have several fun events coming up such as the Rock 4 Recue at Jamin Java on October 23, the Spooky Pooch parade in Vienna, VA on October 29 and the Home for the Holidays (one of our semi-annual adoption events) at the Reston Town Center on November 1.
We are starting to look for volunteers to help us with the events, so if you are interested, please contact me, Danielle Brogan, at danielle@gooddogz.org. As always our events are not successful without our volunteers, so we are looking to you to help us make these upcoming events a success!!
I will coninue to update this blog with information regarding the upcoming events and to provide updates regarding how the events went. If you have attended an event and have a story to share, please email me and I will include it on an upcomging blog post. Also, I will include some frequently asked questions I have received from volunteers with the answers from GoodDogz.org to keep all of you in the loop.
Have something else you would like to see on the blog? Send me an email and let me know!!
